Happy Father's Day: thoughts, quotes and pictures celebrating Dads

Today's thoughts, quotes and pictures are all about Dads and Fathers in honor of Father's Day. Teacher, nurturer, hero, comedian, authority figure, friend and coach are just a few of the roles a Father plays in their child's life. I think these quotes and pictures are a nice representation of some of things that Dads do. I hope you enjoy them and don't forget to thank your Dad for everything he does for you.

You will find that if you really try to be a father, your child will meet you halfway.  ~Robert Brault,

He didn't tell me how to live; he lived, and let me watch him do it.  ~Clarence Budington Kelland

When I was a boy of fourteen, my father was so ignorant I could hardly stand to have the old man around.  But when I got to be twenty-one, I was astonished at how much he had learned in seven years.  ~Mark Twain, "Old Times on the Mississippi" Atlantic Monthly, 1874

A truly rich man is one whose children run into his arms when his hands are empty.  ~Author Unknown

My father used to play with my brother and me in the yard.  Mother would come out and say, "You're tearing up the grass."  "We're not raising grass," Dad would reply.  "We're raising boys."  ~Harmon Killebrew

The father who would taste the essence of his fatherhood must turn back from the plane of his experience, take with him the fruits of his journey and begin again beside his child, marching step by step over the same old road.  ~Angelo Patri

Why are men reluctant to become fathers?  They aren't through being children.  ~Cindy Garner

Any man can be a father.  It takes someone special to be a dad.  ~Author Unknown

Happy Father's Day to all you Dads out there!

Peace, Light and Take Care!
